Putting aside about journalists 'never revealing their sources'....other reasons I think the BC tapes should be left in the vaults untils the deaths of the participants are these..

1...Armed republicans will become angrier.
2...It could ignite a dissident loyalist response.
3...I'm not sure if the truth is told people could handel the truth at the moment. Only becasue it's still to raw in peoples memories.
4...It will give the British/PSNI a real chance to air-brush/rewrite history...

The problem with John is he has lost much of his credibility by writing increasingly ridiculous controversialist pieces for The Star. Either those pieces are genuine and he is slightly mad or as I suspect they are an in-joke but at the expense of the readership (a nasty way to write).

Either way, when he does something serious I now tend to read it through a filter of scepticism brought about by his tabloid ramblings.
