I was out with Hugh a few times in Amsterdam when he was managing the bar. We had some great sessions together. The last time I spoke with him was up at a bar in Derry. After that I heard the same thing about him being found unconscious. Don’t know what he is doing now. He had serious misgivings about the direction of PSF but preferred to tell them privately.

We worked together in NY on the 10th anniversary of the 1981 Irish Hunger Strike. A few days after the event he was picked up and deported back to Belfast. I ran into him in Amsterdam back in the mid to late 90's where he was managing an Irish bar. About a little over a year ago,I read a notice in the Derry Journal that he was found unconscious in the street and had sustained a serious head wound and was in the hospital. I contacted the Derry Journal to inquire about his condition but no one got back to me. Does anyone know what happened to him? I heard he left PSF in the late 90's? Thank you.

How despicable. The only purpose of this function is to try to convince people to financially support them. I only wish the families of the ten hunger strikers would put a stop to this disgracefully staged performance. Don’t the families realize this dog and pony show is not about the 30th anniversary of the hunger strike but all about raising money for “themselves alone”?
