One argument often heard when trying to raise awareness about Irish politics in America is the ever-so-clever "what country were you born in again?" Clearly when we now see Obama and Eric Holder being further embroiled into this scandal regarding the AP Press it becomes obvious that the Boston College Archive Case was a grave injustice to our Constitutional and therefore Inalienable HUMAN Rights that should've resonated much farther than our typical Plastic Paddy circles (of which I am of course a part).

You did not have to care about a 32 County Socialist Republic or Irish Republicanism or even have to have an interest in Irish history and the Troubles to be concerned about the precedent set when politicians can proscribe the rights of the free press and our academics if the pursuit of truth becomes inconvenient to their agenda. Now with these AP Press subpoenas, we can see why an "Irish history problem" becomes OUR problem. Much in the same way as the Hooded Men and the ECHR case set precedence for Enhanced Interrogation by the U.S.
