Given what you say it is hardly unreasonable to suspect that the state forces have lots about Mrs McConville that they do now want brought out. They will seek to control the narrative.

Just for talk sake. If Dolores Price did talk to either Ciaran Barnes or Allison Morris then why don't the PSNI/HET simply ask them to hand over their notes?

Or why can't the PSNI or HET simply go to Gerry (using the information in the public domain) and say 'Listen fella, I think it's about time you were questioned under caution about the murder of Jean McConville'..."

I found this article by Eamon McCann 'spooky', when he claimed..

"Although the police received multiple reports about the abduction, the Police Ombudsman's investigators were 'unable to find any trace of any investigation into Mrs McConville's abduction during the 1970s and 1980s'. No investigation at all took place until 1995 ... The police who worked the McConville's neighbourhood in 1972 were questioned and 'none could recall any investigation being carried out'.

"One detective conceded 'that because of the situation ... at the time, enquiries in the area were restricted to the most serious cases', of which the McConville abduction apparently was not one.

So a mother vanishing of the face of the earth, leaving 10 kids to fend for themselves wasn't serious enough to be investigated...????

I think the police have a lot of questions to answer. As to why wasn't Jean McConvilles disapperance looked into properly. Unless they are hiding something too.
