I look at this as a Giant Jigsaw puzzle , The pieces will eventually fall into place, or , should I say, The Pieces are all in place. The Committee manipulated everyone, hunger Strikers included, what galls me , they did not inform INLA hunger Strikers of anything.

What Goes around , comes around, eventually leading to the truth , something which the Committee manipulated to such an extent , they believed it themselves, and , still do to this very day.

Excellent account Carrie of the manipulation of the circumstances leading up to the death of Joe Mac Donnell, the games Adams and his cronies were willing to play with the masters of deception was ridiculous,they were out of their depths and sheer bloody arrogance and the fact it was not themselves whose lives were on the line led them on with notion that the heroic stance taken by Bobby and the others up to that point had somehow rattled the british government,which I think may have fueled their ego,s there was a workable solution on the table,it would have given all sides an out without losing face and saved lives, its a pity that the AC were not keeping a closer watch on golden boy Adams and as we now know the resulting deaths were as much to their shame as it is to Adams and his kitchen cabinet,looking forward to the rest of these articles Carrie superb as always..

So Bik McFarland who once in his life wanted to be a priest and preach about love, forgiveness, understanding..etc Simply turned his back, knowing that a comrade will be dead in 36hrs or less and there is more than enough on the table to end the strike but doesn't.

While a year earlier Brendan Hughes, who questioned every level of the catholic church. He stopped the 1980 strike to save a comrades life. There was a lot less on the table then.
