a prudent summing up. And I for certain do not have any. But you would think that if they had not picked them up they would have asked for them long before now.

What BC is doing here is showing no interest in protecting their sources but in seeking to reveal the identies of those sources to the British. What other reason do they want identities for at this stage? It is not for academic or research purposes the outcome of which is to complete the project

And if BC thinks either I or Ed are going to help them identify sources from memory they have not a chance. Were I able to and were I to assist in identifying anybody the the NUJ could really throw the book at me then for being deeply unethical. Although the Ethics Council would probably find me not guilty of having done anything worng!

I don't think we should be queuing up in Sunday best for it but journalists must be prepared to go to jail, screaming, kicking and protesting, rather than identify their sources. They must sit the jail term out no matter how long or difficult it is. They must never comply. Now, the Ethics Council is unlikely to agree with me on that but it has no monopoly on journalistic ethics.

It's obvious that Dr O' Neil is the culprit , he either picked the contracts up from Belfast, or , He didn't.

If he picked them up , then He has either Mislaid them , forgot were he put them.

The other scenario is, The person he was meant to meet did not turn up , or , did not turn up on time , or , He (O' Neil) failed to turn up on time, or , failed to turn up ,thus, the contracts will still be with that person who was supposed to hand them over..

The only person who can prove that the contracts were handed over is the person who was to hand them over.

The bitterest people I have met were American soldiers wounded in Vietnam.
