No matter what law Marian Price has or hasn't broken the methods of confinement smack of cruel and unusual treatment. This is against so many tenets of human rights law.

I am not referring to Marian here but if someone commits a heinous crime and it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that they're guilty of it, the level of depravity of that crime shouldn't impact on their right to be confined in a secure but suitable, caring way, free from abuse and maltreatment. Of course some prisoners should be treated differently depending on their crime but they should all be respected as human beings.

Politics aside, placing a woman in a man's prison is cruel and unusual, solitary confinement is cruel and unusual- the list goes on. I am a fervent supporter of the peace process although some things gall. To me this looks like vengeance.
