Anthony McIntyre
Former IRA volunteer and ex-prisoner, spent 18 years in Long Kesh, 4 years on the blanket and no-wash/no work protests which led to the hunger strikes of the 80s. Completed PhD at Queens upon release from prison. Left the Republican Movement at the endorsement of the Good Friday Agreement, and went on to become a journalist. Co-founder of The Blanket, an online magazine that critically analyzed the Irish peace process.

When you see the thousands that come out in Britian to welcome home there troops from fighting illegal wars around the world and the hundreds we watch line the streets of our own city to welcome home the local RIR etc and also the constant drip-feed of songs(x-factor),news reports/documentries(most notably Paul Clarke UTV),front page tabliods,Minute silences in soccer games etc to celebrate the British Army its important that Republicans come out and stand together to remember and celebrate the lives of our hero's and pay tribute to the men and women who gave there lives fighting for our freeedom!!!!
